Hall Escape in Bilbao: The Challenge

More than 150 years ago, the Congregation had to capture some of the fantastic creatures that appear in the Museum’s works of art.

The water, provisions, and various goods that arrived through the Bilbao estuary were stored in the Abbey, but they inexplicably disappeared.

The Brothers discovered something unusual. When night fell, the different creatures depicted in the sculptures and paintings of the collection came to life and took advantage of the darkness to steal all those supplies and valuable items.

Repeat the steps they took back then, find the creature prison, and lock them up again (Game Master).

Hall Escape in Bilbao: The Details

It is a different kind of Hall Escape. Normally, a hall is a game with escape room dynamics but that takes place in the same room. In our case, it is not like that.

A large part of the game takes place in the cloister of our Museum, but there will be moments in the adventure when you will visit secret rooms.

The challenges you will encounter are puzzles of wit and teamwork. You are not here to get frustrated—you are answering the call of the Abbey to have a good time, and at all times you will be accompanied by a Brother of the Congregation.

Journey into the Unknown:
The Rules

In the case of groups made up solely of children, one adult must remain at the Museum to take responsibility for the minors.

Recommended age for children’s groups: 8 and up.

Throughout the entire activity, you’ll be accompanied by our Game Master, who will help you move forward whenever needed.

About the Hall Escape Game: Journey into the Unknown

Is the Hall Escape “Journey into the Unknown” located inside the museum?

Yes, the adventure of our Hall Escape game, as well as our escape room “La Abadía de Atxuri,” takes place inside the Museum. Therefore, it is essential that you act responsibly and respect everything around you.

The Abbot or Abbess will ask you to sign a document to remind you that, even though it’s a game, the pieces surrounding you are part of our shared heritage. This is an immersive experience without theatrical staging — and that makes a big difference!

Our Hall Escape is primarily designed for people over 18 years old. However, as many of you have already seen, younger participants often surprise us with their mental agility and ability to solve challenges.

That said, some tasks are intended for adults and may be too complex for younger players. For this reason, players between the ages of 11 and 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Our Hall Escape game requires observation, teamwork, creativity, collaborative activities, interaction between players, deductive reasoning, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making. These are the only requirements to participate.

The Hall Escape game Journey into the Unknown is designed for a minimum of 6 people.

However, two people can fully enjoy a unique experience made for couples! In fact, many pairs achieve surprising synergy, solving challenges with agility and complicity.

The hall game is designed for groups, so we recommend inviting other couple friends to enjoy the immersive atmosphere, the special objects, and the secret rooms. In groups of couples, the adventure becomes intense, exciting, and absolutely unforgettable.

Our Hall Escape game Journey into the Unknown is designed for large groups. It’s ideal for team-building activities or shared

We also offer a meeting or conference room to meet corporate needs, as well as physical space for snacks, catering, and celebrations.

Yes, absolutely! You don’t need to master any specific language to complete the mission: the challenges are designed so that anyone can solve them without language barriers.

Additionally, during the booking process you can choose the language in which you’d like to receive the initial instructions: Basque, Spanish, or English. And if any questions come up, don’t worry… we’ll definitely understand each other!
